My Future Home.
I don’t know about you, but i spend ALOT of time day dreaming about my future home. I love designing the architecture, imagining the gardens i will plant….sigh. heaven. here are some things i want for my future home:
- I want a loooong drive way lined with big trees.
- I was Jacarandas, Tipuanas, Poincianas, Shizalobiums and other big flowering trees on my property.
- I want wide sloaping lawns that have Polished White Boulders sticking up randomly around the place!
- I want a pond where you can swim.
- I want a pet peacock that roams the property, and a big tortous!
- I want to have big bonfires with friends
- I want open spaces and to let the outside in.
- AND i want my house to look a little bit like THIS bubble house that was designed by Maison Bulle who’s a French architect. This site also has AMAZING photos of another bubble house. But every site about Her/him(?) is in french, so its a bit hard to pursue my interest.
———>Lately I’ve been thinking about “community” and how it is actually wrong that we all live in these separate houses, divided by fences, segregated into little exclusive family’s, when really we should treat everyone like friends we haven’t met yet. I want my home to be maybe a kind of Artists retreat/ Kibbutz/ Alternative society/ Micronation! And we will attract free spirits from around the world who will come and stay with us! And everyone will say: “the time i spent at *insert cool name* transformed my life!”
But as soon as i start dreaming about this place, I’m reminded of all the money it will cost, and that reminds me of all the dieing children who have NOTHING. and that reminds me that there is nothing worth doing in this world other than helping those people, and everything else is hollow and selfish. I dont think i could live with myself unless I devoted my life to charity. Maybe I could incorporate both. Maybe i can build these perfect community’s over the top of African slums? maybe bubbly houses will become symbols of liberation! Hoorah!

i would love to come visit your bubble house..
build it and i will come..
looks like a hobbit house rhys.
it’s cute though.
Perhaps Luke & I, and you, and whoever else, can make our own community of houses… when we all have our own houses!!
I too have almost the same dreams as yours, except that i want to have an ostrich farm instead of having a pet peacock..
Now I’m more fulfilled, being a part of GreenPeace, knowing that even if I cant give myself the kind of life I want, I am contributing to give the next generation a safe place to live in.
