Janessa knows what i mean.

So I checked out this Blog, which referred to this Post buy a guy i don’t really like, which referred to this study. BREAKING NEWS EVERYBODY: Playing outside stimulates creativity in children.

I have one thing to say about this….. Duh! When i read things like this I feel like i am the only sane person left in this world. Every month or so i read about a new study that comes out “Eating vegetables helps reduce chances of Cancer”, “Praying makes you happier” etc. Do we really need to prove these things? Is the world so backwards that we cannot see the most basic simple facts that this universe revolves around. I feel really tense right now.

Its like this: I used to interact on this debating site and someone posted a debate topic: “Why should i care about other people?”. I have never gone back to that site. It is too much for me to process that such a disfigured excuse for a human being can actually exists. It is actually impossible for me to begin to comprehend… anything about that sentence.

kids-climbing-tree.jpgMaybe the reason I am so amazingly wonderful is because i was exposed to nature when i was younger, A lot. My climbing tree is like a physical extension of my body, and it really upsets me that as i become bigger its getting harder for me to climb. Somehow i cant scuttle like i used to… I know that a part of me is dieing. Slower than it dies for most people, but it is dieing none the less.

I think we should tear down all of those sterile plastic playgrounds (possibly the greatest affront to humanity that ever existed), but NOT replace them with crappy playgrounds made of “natural materials”.  The biggest mistake play grounders make is they assume children are as retarded as they are. If a kid needs a shop they will Imagine one. Just plant a frigging tree! Thats all any child needs in this big crazy world. A tree to climb in. Why do you think trees exist!?  It seems to me that the imagination is an extra limb that people use to do things with, and when you get to a certain age it is cut off. like an angel that cuts off its own wings, and from then on people walk blindly across the earth, broken shadows of what they once were. We call them adults.

Those are the days. Today’s kids play computer games. I won’t be surprised that they don’t know trees have so much fun!

    Thanks for the link…
Even though you don’t really like me. :-)

I totally agree, Rhys. Maybe the study was Steve’s way of justifying his own urges to get out and climb around in trees, or maybe his inability to as an adult.

I climbed a few trees yesterday. I found a place with lots of magic around. You’ll see it soon.

    YES YES YES BRAVO!
I myself grew up in trees. In fact, we built ourselves the most fantastic treehouse in our plum tree. And then we had an imaginary gymnasium in the tree in the front yard, and we used flour and pretended that we were professional and so cool. Growing up outside is the BEST thing possible and it makes me SO unbelievably sad to think that millions of children are growing up in a culture where it’s cool to be a prancing, clicking gangster, or some such nonsense like that.
AND PLASTIC PLAYGROUNDS! OH! Don’t get me started! How unimaginative that all playgrounds are blue, yellow, red, and green! What about the rest of the colors? Who decided that those four colors were the colors children needed to focus on most?!

    AHRGHOUEGNOUAOHDOUIBG.
Now I am frustrated. I’m going to go climb a tree, or jump on the trampoline, or go skipping. Something REAL!

    amen.
rhys, everyday i feel more like a broken shadow.
do you think maybe i could stick the pieces together with soap? or will i have to sew them? and will that hurt?

  7. Rhys says:

Mandy, i think that we are all slowly perishing, and there is nothing we can do to stop it. You cant stop death. And the death of your inner child is the “first death”. All you can do is try to keep your child alive with proper nutrients and exercise and get as many beautiful things out of it as you can! Because it will disappear… eventually.
