Life has dealt me a very good hand.

So. Stuff has been happening.

Last Sunday I won the Speed Poets Championships! Speed Poets is this excellent community of poets that meets on the first Sunday of every month. I always try to get down to brisbane for it each month. Very cool. I am oober appreciative that a community of such interesting people exists, and I am so glad that they like my poems!

ALSO - I did a recording at the Australian Christian Channel. I now have a DVD of 6 of my best Poems from my almost compleate album - Just Enough Dangerous. I’m going to use it to apply for festivals etc. Like Easterfest, which I definatly want to perform at next year.

Excitement! I am three chapters away from finishing the most awesome novel of all time - Jac and the Wild Children. I expect to finish it this week. Then I want to go over it all agian before I print it out and send it off to Jo - my wonderful editor. Hooray! I have already started getting excited about my next novel which I think I will write as a series. But I don’t want to dive into it straight away. Maybe I will just focus on Poetry, short storys, and mini essay things. Maybe I could write an anthology sort of peice next. hrm…

It is such a good feeling to be succeeding. I it so good to be towards the end of my book. It is so good to follow my desire lines and for them to actually end up some place exciteing. it is so good to see the fruits of my labour - and it hasent even been labour, it is just staying true to your voice and following your passion. God has been so good to me.

I have been a bit convicted by Jacamoe, the main character in my book. I think… that I am Jacamoe. Yes, I am only just figureing this out now. People say that your first novel is always autobiographical, but i thought, my novel starts with children growing off a tree, this is not autobiographical. But this book is not so much about what I have done as much as it about what I am going to do. I could preach for a life time on the ideas explored in this novel. I could start a revolution with the ideas explored in this novel. And do you know what? I think I will, on both counts.
