Sorry means you wont do it again.
I have decided to launch: Operation Everything.
It is a simple project: Watch the sunrise. Every sunrise. Everymorning.
To understnad this I need to explain: at the begining of this year in Israel, Me and Justin climbed Masada at night, so we could watch the sunrise over the jordanian mountain range. Masada, is an ancient mountain fortress by the dead sea. It was a bring-me-to-my-knees sort of moment. And I said: This is waiting for us every morning. Why do people sleep in.
Once I came back from Israel I went through a phase of waking up for every sunrise every morning. It lasted two weeks or something.
I can’t quite explain it. But sunrises are like watching the world getting dressed. It’s shattering. If certain periods of time are more spiritual than others (and maybe they are?) then those few minutes where the world hovers in a liminal space between night and day would win easily.
Also, I have been thinking about ways to develop a more CONSISTENTLY AWESOME spiritual life. The whole God thing for me is quiet uppy - downy. I experience beautiful highs and shattering lows, sometimes multiple times in one day. I would wish my relationship with God was always excellent. And maybe this will help that. How can you have a bad day if you see the sunrise, and spend time with God in the morning, just praying and reading the word.
I’ll have to sacrifice some things. Late nights out with friends. Not all of them, but some of them, most of them maybe. I’m not sure if that is a good trade, late nghts in exchange for early mornings, but I am going to give it a go. The emotion I get from a sunrise is pretty special. It is such a good thing. (yes).
