Things that you need to know:
I am painting my Studio blue with clouds. My Artist/Friend Mel Anquetil is helping me make it beautiful. Once it is finished i will be living up in the clouds. i will never have to come down because my fridge, kettle, matress and pillows will all be up in the louds with me. I will lie on my sky coloured floor and watch the perfect sunny day all around me. I will be in a constant state of ecstacy and joy. Hooray for forward motion!
Also - I now have two jobs. Working in the hospitality industry and the trampoline industry. Fabulous! I am an artist and this means I often want to commit suicide during my more unproductive days.
I have a PLAN to combat this! WORK.
How this works for me: If I work, then I restict the time in which to be creative and productive. The limited time creates pressure which produces forward motion with in turn churns out books, poetry, plays, instalation art peices, and journals full of ideas that may or may-not be good for anything (but will no doubt confuse my biographers once I’m dead!)
So once I have moved back into my studio/started working again, my life will well and truely be chugging along and I will get down into the dirty business of writing my second novel. (Or should I use the plural? It is a SERIES!) Just like Harry Potter but much, much better. I am producing at the moment but not filling out proper block/hours of writing. So atm i am PLAYING with a novel (series) as opposed to the hard-core WRITING a novel (series).
The DOWN SIDE is that I was just reading a personality book, and I discovered that my personality type SLITS IT’S WRISTS if it is left alone for long periods of time… Writing the most lonely occupation I can think of. Even when you have stopped writing and are having down time with friends you find you cant really talk about your day
Example: “I was writing a scene today and decided that Miranda has this twitch in her left eyelid. So I spent the rest of the day going back through all my work, adding the twitch. It was so exciting!”
No. Your friends dont even know who Miranda is, or that the eye twitch is symbolic of her relationship with her parents. They are fools.
ALSO, I have a few other artsy progects underway.
Very exciting but totally top secret. SHHH!!!!
PS: check out one of my Poet friends. I heart her blog. She is featuring at Controverse this April and I am the May feature so we have this beautiful thing in common. Hooray!

A blue room sounds great.
I agree with your forward motion plan. Working does make you appreciate your spare time more. The problem is when your working, you dont want to be working.
I would love to have a read of your book.
