Burning…

Yes. AND No.

Yes. AND No.

I really really really really really really really really really want to go to Burning Man. I have been looking at the festival photographs all night. It is pretty much my idea of HEAVEN!!!!! So much FREEDOM! I love that everyone there can express themselves in anyway they like with no limitations. Paint their bodies, build a theme camp, put on a show, build a mutant vehichle and drive aroudn the festival. Whatever. Creativity with NO LIMITS! I always want to express myself through wearing funny clothes and hosting weird gatherings etc! I want to do things… that you just CANT do in this society.

i see you

i see you

People tell me I have the oddest fashion sense. Oh my, they have NO IDEA how weird I can be. I hold back, not so much because I am scared of being shunned, (although it isn’t fun being attacked because you are different) but because it is so tedious for people to always be exclaiming overme. It’s like, I cant even wear a bright hat outside without people frothing at the mouth and convulsing on the floor. Gosh.

Anyway, I have decided to start dressing weird. Weirder than usual. It is part of my new life philosophy of not taking myself seriously, honouring my inclinations. Following my childish interestes.  Shrugging my shoulders at convention and BEING (me).

Last weekend I performed at the QLD poetry festival. One day I wore a necklace made out of toilet rolls, I let friends and strangers draw on them. Another day I wore an umbrella handel on a string round my neck and a pink sheet turned into a cape! (I did NOT wear shoes).

I want to start having fun all the time. Itis tricky to figure out how to live life like this. But totally worth it. Right now I think I will print out a sign that says:  “If I were  dinosaur (I would eat you)” and maybe just wear it around my neck or something. Who said clothing had to be practical?

My home!

My home!

Things I am into at the moment:
Body Paint.
Fashion that stops being fashion and starts being art.
Share houses, communal living.
Tipi’s. I really want to live in a tipi.
Dreaklocks.
nudity.
herb gardens.
collage art.
words cut from carboard boxes.
instalation art.
open relationships.
the purpose of art?
wine

Also. Looking at the basic assumptions we build our world on. And then… tilting your head to the side and realising that alot of those assumptions are actually LIES. And then wondering what it would look like if we uprooted all the lies, planted truth and creativity… what sort of twisted world would grow up out of the cracks in the pavement? Wouldn’t it be beautiful.

Rinky, you are the most consistent person I know.
I admire that a lot about you.
    You’re not crazy… just brave.

  2. I thrust you know what you are doing... says:

Wow - nice new look on the page Mr Consistency! Yeah I can imagine you would thrive at a place like Burning man. It would definitely be worth doing one day - despite all the drugs.
